CompInaBox Description

CompInaBox is a collection of web-based tools for assisting in planning and running a ballroom dance competition, dance camp, or dance festival. It has been developed with the YCN competitions as the primary users; however, care has been taken to allow easy growth to accomodate USABDA and NDCA competitions. Special needs for competitions hosted outside of the United States can and will be considered as they are brought to our attention.

A computer running the CIB software is called a “CIB Server.” A given CIB Server can provide services to multiple competitions simultaneously, regardless of the point at which the competition is in of the “competition lifecycle.” The competition lifecycle as defined by CIB is Planning, Testing, Registering, Preparing, Executing, Reporting, and Archiving.

CIB is licensed under the GNU GPL, one of the many Open Source licenses. CIB is freely availible for download and use. If you plan to modify the source code, be sure to read the COPYING file that is provided in the source code for the full terms of the GPL to understand your rights and responsibilities.
